At times the visits and revisits depend on the intensity of the relationship between the visitor and the website. This is why at times people like visiting some websites very often while at the same time they would never like to visit some other websites. Some websites are such that the features, functionality and appeal just glue the visitor to the website. This makes the visitor visit the website repeatedly. This sort of relationship between the visitor and the website does not develop over night. It takes some time. Moreover there are other factors too that affect this sort of relationship.
Besides the appearance of the website there are some other factors like simplicity and reward that play a crucial role in the relationship. These two factors play a vital role in building a long term relationship between the visitor and website. These two factors are complementary to each other. If the website is very simple, after some visits the visitor may feel boring and then may skip to another website. This implies that being too simple can adversely affect the performance of the website.
After visiting a website repeatedly, the visitors start thinking of the rewards they get. At this juncture the visitor should be rewarded appropriately for exhibiting brand loyalty. If the rewards are not lucrative or tempting it is possible that the visitor may not like to visit the website later on.
Simplicity:
Most of the web designers in their effort to make the website unique make the website sophisticated but at the same time complex too. When the web design becomes complex, it becomes difficult for the visitor to understand it. The designer should always remember that if the web design is to be made successful then a bit of sophistication is necessary but overall the website design should be simple to understand.
At times it has been observed that the task of the user / visitor is not as simple as it seems to be. Suppose a visitor comes to your website looking for something. Now, instead of finding that something, the visitor sees only the advertisements. The thing he/she is searching for may be mentioned on the website but difficult to locate just because of the advertisements. In this sort of situation, the visitor may hop on to another website that gives him/her the information instantaneously. This is the reason why the website should be made simple.
Simplification of the operations conducted through the website can build the relationship between the buyer and the seller. On the other hand if the website is too simple, too complex and rigid then there is a likelihood of it becoming unsuccessful.
Reward:
Relationship depends on rewards that the buyer or visitor gets for buying and using the services offered through the website. The reward can either be physical or virtual. When we think of physical rewards it is about gift vouchers being sent to the user. Some of the websites offer services like social networking. These types of websites reward the individual with friendship and acquaintance with the likeminded people. There are gaming websites that offer medals or badges to the players after clearing different levels. These medals or badges do not have any physical entity, but of great importance to the players and the community that plays frequently those online games.
When the user is rewarded by the website, it is a great honor and consequently the relationship between the website and user grow stronger than before.
